Abstract In 1963, after a comprehensive reorganization of public higher education in Maryland was undertaken, Governor John Millard Tawes appointed the new Board of Trustees of the State Colleges (later renamed the Board of Trustees of the State Universities and Colleges) for higher education under the provisions of Chapter 41 of the Laws of Maryland. Abstract The Lida Lee Tall School (originally named The Model School) was primarily used as a campus demonstration elementary to help train teachers in the Maryland State Normal School.
